Monday 30th November, 7 weeks.

Not a lot to report today – felt quite queasy all day and was sick again (probably because I ate a massive burrito for lunch whoops!) Had work tonight which was difficult as I had a 3 hour snooze before work and woke up 15 minutes before I had to leave so zombieself was initiated all night. But I did manage to get a $100 tip! Score!

I’m just lying in bed now watching another episode of Downton Abbey – you know the important things in life (oh and munching on some maltesers). Good way to end the night!

Sunday 29th November, 6 weeks, 6 days.

Saw your father for breakfast this morning -was going to be good and healthy but then I saw french toast on the menu (sorry!) I have work at 6 tonight – so tempted to call in sick but really need the extra money right now. Spoke to your grandma today (my mum) and should be seeing her next weekend for your Aunt’s birthday. I don’t feel nauseous today which is good. I just need to pee allllllll the time! Walk, nap, shower, work is how I plan to spend the rest of my day. However, let’s be real. I’m just going to binge watch Gilmore girls before I have to go to work and get changed 5 minutes before I have to leave. #let’sbehonest

Saturday 28th November – 6 weeks, 5 days

Slept into 11 – thank god for Saturdays. Still craving a sausage sandwich. Work tonight at 6 but going on a hunt for a sausage sandwich.

3pm – failed at finding sausage sandwich – had boost and a sausage roll instead. Stopped myself from buying a gazillion baby clothes. Might not be able to once I find out if you are a boy or girl! Might have a nap now and then get ready for work. Seeing your dad for brunch tomorrow. Hopefully all goes smoothly.

Friday 27th November 2015 – 6 weeks, 4 days

Monday is still a blur to me. I remember waking up and feeling exhausted and was strolling around the shops when I thought it might be a good idea just to get a general check up at the doctors. 3 and a half weeks ago I was in hospital with what they thought was a “ruptured” ovarian cyst – yes it sounds as painful as it is. I started to explain my symptoms of feeling tired and that I missed my period (which I didn’t think was a big deal at the time because the doctor I had in hospital said that might happen.) The doctor then proceeded to ask me to lay down on the patient bed and he felt my stomach saying he felt some “swelling.”

“We should at least take a pregnancy test just to be sure” said the doctor and I agreed – not expecting anything from it. I took a urine sample into the next door and within 6 seconds we had a positive result.

Shocked. Speechless. Happy.Uneasy. Worried. All these emotions swirled around my body. “Wouldn’t they have checked this when I was in hospital?” I thought. 20, single and pregnant – half completed uni degree. What was I going to do.

Tuesday – Ultrasound day. Two of my close friends came with me for support and this is exactly when we found out just how old you were. Exactly 6 weeks and 1 day – which means when I was in hospital you were already somewhat there and that this apparent ruptured cyst wasn’t the case at all, it was just early pregnancy cramps and morning sickness. You were barely visible on the ultrasound, so tiny, but still there and I still can’t believe that you are there. Your tiny heart beating at 142 – perfectly normal. I went back to the doctors with my ultrasound and she was happy – the next step was to fast for a blood test (not that I’ve been feeling like eating anyway) and come back early the next morning around 8. I waitressed that night and it was so hard not to think about you – but it’s still way too early days to be telling my workplace about you.

Wednesday – Set my alarm for 8. Snooze x 5. Wake up at 11 – get to doctors for 11:45. Had blood/urine test and get results next day.

Thursday – Call from doctors office with blood test results ready. Apparently shortest pregnancy referral she’s ever written because I’m so healthy and young. Low vitamin D and have to get a rebella shot after you’re here but otherwise perfectly fine. Managed to scough down a ham and cheese toastie – I was so hungry! I then went to the hospital to book my appointments there for 12/13 weeks and my next ultrasound.

Friday – Was meant to work but woke up vomiting. Thanks! So, I cancelled. Exhausted. Pooped! I went and got a haircut instead and managed to eat a sausage roll and chai latte (my now replacement for caffeine 😦 ) I bought some new underwear, some indian “eating” pants as mum would call them (they are very stretchy but oh-so comfortable) – a face mask, a bath bomb, some new pj pants and some leggings. Nap is needed soon!
